He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Strickland and Bettie Stuckey Strickland; and his siblings, Jean Bridgers, Patsy Winders and J. B. Strickland.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Farrington (Christopher) of Midlothian, VA; his grandchildren, Laurel Elizabeth Farrington and Bradley William Farrington; and his sister Ann Crawford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center.
