He was predeceased by: his wife Lucy Whitehead Davis of Charlotte; his siblings, Julia Leonard of Lexington, Jay Davis of Webster, FL and Bettie Lefevers of Charlotte; and his parents, Jasper Davis and Ruth Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Lucy Carol Davis, Nancy Davis of Chapel Hill, Steve Davis, Jr. of Chapel Hill and Roman Davis of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Lauren Davis Chase, Shaw Cross, Parker Emmerson, Sarah Davis, Elizabeth Cross Rector, Hannah Davis O'Connor, Stephanie Davis and Hayden Davis; and his great grandchildren, Tolliver and Rama Emmerson.
