She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Stockard and Grace Horner Stockard; her former husband Walter C. Miles, Jr.; and her sister Barbara Stockard Isley. She is survived by: her husband W. C.; her children, Walter C. Miles (Wally) and Janet Miles Shelley (Kirk); and her grandchildren, Dr. Christina Shelley Gutta (Michael), Kirk Shelley, Jr. (Hannah), Walter C. Miles, IV, Natalie Miles Jarrett (Colin), Susanna Jarrett, Ryan Gutta and Scout Shelley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte, NC 28215.
