He was predeceased by : his parents, Polie Burgess and Laura Burgess; his wife Lucy Carpenter Burgess; and his siblings, Eugenia Burgess Mills, Geneva Burgess Reed, Kenneth Burgess and Jack Burgess.
He is survived by : his friend Claudette; his daughter Robin Burgess Elbertson (Bruce); his son-in-law Bruce Elbertson of Charlotte, NC; his son Hal Burgess; and also Lance Elbertson of Indian Land. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
