He was predeceased by: his mother Pauline Pinkston; his brothers, Gene Wright, Craig Pinkston and Gary Pinkston; and his grandson Joshua Combs.
He is survived by: his stepfather Norman Pinkston; his wife Jean Weissrock Combs; and his children, Warren Combs of Asheville, Rena Combs (Tony Fish) of Stanley, Cindy Ferrell of Mt. Holly, Paul Combs of Stanley and Nathan Combs of Mt. Holly. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
