He was predeceased by: his son Jarrett Lee Jones; his father Charles James Jones Sr.; and his grandparents, John, Margery Jones, Paul and Margaret Kelly of Dubuque.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Everette Jones; his son Devin Kathleen; his mother Eilean Marshall; his brother Richard of Dubuque; his daughter Megan Amanda Taylor of Charlotte; and his nieces and nephews, Olivia Haigler of Atlanta, GA, Cutiellia and Cameron Jones of Dubuque, IA. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
