He is survived by: his wife Marion; his children, Mary Elizabeth Scherger (Townsend Gaspard), Michael Scherger (Kelly Rudolph Scherger) and Catherine Scherger Talley (Tanner Talley); his grandchildren, Ella and Regan; his father-in-law Thomas J. Crowley; his close friend Belgian Malinois; his siblings, George Scherger, Jr. (Jane Scherger), Joseph Scherger (Terri Scherger) and Teresa Martin (Richard Martin); his nieces and nephews, Jill Cruise, Mark Scherger, Christy Gallo, Tricia Southard, Sherry Elber, Katie Efland and Timothy Martin; and his cousins, Ann Crowley, Sean Crowley, Michael Crowley, Prudy Kornegay, Katherine Dickson, Elizabeth Rudder and Patricia Smith.
