He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Anna Flauaus; his son Axel Detlef Speer of Charlotte, NC; his brother Juergen Speer of Hamburg; his daughter Belinda Speer Floyd (Richard Alan Floyd) of Roaring Gap, NC; his granddaughter Melissa Teahl; his great grandchildren, Kayla Teahl and Logan Teahl; his daughter Laura Speer; his grandchild Raina Speer of Charlotte, NC; and his great grandchildren, Megan, Stefanie and Brian Speer of Raleigh, NC..
