He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Dyk and Jenny Van Dyk; his wife Joan Van Dyk; his daughter Diane Jarriel; and his brothers, Bill Van Dyk, Howard Van Dyk and John Van Der Hook.
He is survived by: his sister Barbara Graves; and his children, Daniel Van Dyk, Donna Watts (Steve), Darlene Moore (James) and Darcy Thiel (David). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and10 great grandchildren.
