It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Patrick Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina, born in Jackson, Michigan, who passed away on January 26, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Bentha Self Johnson; and his brother Philip. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Tolson; his children, Edward Johnson, Gannon Ward and Paula Smith; his sons-in-law, David Ward and Matt Smith; his grandchildren, Katherine, Lillian, Hannah and Owen; and his siblings, Paul, Mary, Frank, Greg and Harry.
Due to the current pandemic, a memorial service with private burial will be planned at a later, safer date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Carolinas Chapter; or Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church in Waxhaw.
