He was predeceased by: his parents, James Allen Shands Sr. and Johnsie Olivia Shands; and his siblings, James A. Shands Jr. (Jimmy) and Maglia Lee Shands Satler. He is survived by: his children, Darius Shands, Demarco Shands and Hellenia Guy; his brother Julius Shands (Juice); his nieces and nephews, Sherridan, Dorothy Olivia, Franzel, Ahmad, Ryan and Juwan; his cousins, Harriet Battle, David Battle and Albert Smith; and his close friend Ressie Johnson. He is also survived by 5 Grand kids.
