She was predeceased by: her husband Roy Edgar Holbrook; her son Roy Edgar "Eddie" Holbrook, Jr.; her parents, Charles Homer Furr and Ora Lillie Kirk Furr; and her brother James Homer Furr.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Evelyn Holbrook Rice; her son-in-law William Kline Rice, Jr.; her grandchildren, William Kline "Trip" Rice, III (Jennifer), Paul Christopher Rice (Leslie), Mary Elizabeth Rice Kunze (Brent) and Nina Katherine Rice; her great grandchildren, Judah (Ari), Ezra, Micah, Evangeline, Josephine, Noah, Elina, Adelyn, Jonah and Jesse; and her sibling's children, Michael Furr, Joseph Fort and Karen Furr. She is also survived by twelve great-nieces and great-nephews, and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McEwen Funeral Service- Mint Hill Chapel (7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227). A committal service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery (4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205).
