He was predeceased by: his daughter Karen Anne Reed; and his siblings, Charles, Wiley, Edwin Reed and Myrtice Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Reed of Charlotte; his daughter Denise Hayes (Craig) of Charlotte; and his sister Ruth Cooper of Braselton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
