He was predeceased by: his wife Eunice; his brothers, Bill and Frank; and his parents, Grover C. Rimmer and Tessie Marie Tate Rimmer.
He is survived by: his children, Sandi Grill (George) of Monroe, NC, Arnold Rimmer (Maleia) of Monroe, NC and Greg Rimmer (Laura) of Ft. Mill, SC; his grandchildren, Justin Grill, Brittany Rimmer and Heather Lawson; and his siblings, Joe, Jimmy and Jan Whitted. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
