He is survived by: his parents, Don Elsass and Diana Elsass of Davidson; his sister Diane Elsass Joyal of Hillsborough; and his nieces, Grace (Ambrose) of Florida and Lily (Nathan) of Raleigh. He is also survived by three grand nieces.
