He was predeceased by: his wife Lou Anna Bridgers Porter; and his parents, James Neely Porter, Jr. and Nancy Loretta Cloniger Porter. He is survived by: his daughters, Neely Porter Gutierrez and Whitney Anna Porter-Acee; his sons-in-law, Demian Gutierrez and John Porter-Acee; and his grandchildren, Anna Riley, Porter Gutierrez, Jack and Lou Anna Porter-Acee.
He spent many weekends pre-Covid traveling to basketball tournaments and flag football games.
