It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce G. Whitson of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on October 10, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Weatherman and Carrie McMahan Weatherman; her former husband TJ Geouge; her husband Earl Whitson; her grandson Brian "Rusty" Geouge; and her siblings, Vera Tipton and Wayne Weatherman.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Geouge (Pamela) of Bakersville, Darryl Geouge (Anna) of Blue Rock, Nina Smith of Spruce Pine and Angela Wood of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Katelyn Rathbone, Hannah Rathbone, Michael Smith (Jessica), Avery Wood and Kayle Wood; her stepgrandchildren, Dakota Cutshaw, Jamie Cutshaw, Rachael Morgan (Phillip) and Bowen Cutshaw; her great grandchild Taylor Smith; and her brothers, Herman Weatherman (Diane) of Burnsville and Ken Weatherman (Pat) of Burnsville. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
