It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kevin André Barrier of Charlotte, North Carolina, born in Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on August 26, 2021, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Owen Rucker and Ethel Jackson Rucker; and his uncle Robert Barrier of Paterson, NJ. He is survived by: his mother Willie Mae Rucker Barrier; his sisters, Eljuana Deneen Barrier of Raleigh, NC and Angela Yvette Barrier of Thomasville, NC; his aunts and uncles, John Barrier (Christine) of Modesto, CA, Larry Clark Rucker, Sr. (Monica) of Stone Mountain, GA, Sylvester Rucker (Emma) of High Point, NC, Delores Davis of Selma, AL, Marlene Dyke of High Point, NC, Gloria Rucker of Louisville, KY and Gloria Shephard of Atlanta, GA; his nephews, Branden Marcellus Barrier and Devin Michael Barrier of High Point, NC; his niece Ashley Michelle Barrier of Greensboro, NC; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Bradley, Branden Jr. (BJ), Desire and Nevaeh; and his close friend Johnny Cunningham. He is also survived by cousins, other relatives, and tremendous friends.
