He is survived by: his wife Kristy Martin McCarter; his brother Charles "Chuck" McCarter; his children, Taylor McCarter Johnson (Chris) of Dallas, Texas, Matt McCarter (Yadi) of Austin, Texas and Craig McCarter (Meredith) of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Piper Johnson, Campbell Johnson, Brady Johnson, Josephine McCarter, Elizabeth McCarter, Lucas McCarter, Sebashtian Bluhm and Camila Rocha.
