He was predeceased by: his sisters, Minnie Eliza Ivey and Annie Ruth Price; and his daughter Patricia Mangum. He is survived by: his wife Deloris Ann Mangum; his son Jack Mangum; his stepchildren, Christopher Hughey and Debbie Ann Sisk; his grandchildren, Tiffany Daniels, Susan Groover, Maddison Hughey, Christian Hughey, Dena Foman, Rachel Mangum, Jessica Mangum and Brianna Donato; and his great grandchildren, Payton Groover, Parker Groover, Mason Daniel, Walter Foman, Jackson Foman, Xavier Foman, Clay Gause, Faith Pierson, Brenna Pierson and Mahkiya Pierson. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren he was known as Paw Paw and Grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church where LP was a member for 20 years.
