She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Dove Tarte and Margaret Wilson Tarte; and her sister Louise Connell (Ray). She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Tucker; her children, Rene Lewis, Coleen Piraino (Michael), Karen Wilt (Paul) and Jason Tucker (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Hannah Schindler (Brian), Trevor Wilt, Bronson, Eden Grace, Deacon Wilt, Courtney and Austin Tucker; and her sisters, Carolyn Morris (Ron) and Cheryl Ownbey (Bobby Grier).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's and Mecklenburg County Humane Society.
