She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherwood Houston and Edna Spears Houston; her husband Robert L. Sims; and her siblings, Mildred Stutts, Annie Brawley, Rachel Mayhew, Billie Sherrill, Mae Honeycutt, Jean Robinson, Herman Houston, Harry Houston, Glenn Houston and Thurston Houston.

She is survived by: her daughters, Pamela Sims DeRuvo (Lou) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Robin Sims Osborne (Tim) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Louis DeRuvo (Casie), Natalie Warren (Peter) and Shawn Clark (Sara); her stepgrandsons, Derek Osborne (Lauren) and Tyler Osborne; her great grandchildren, Anthony, Alivia DeRuvo, Scarlett and Silas Warren; and her siblings, Marvin Houston of Lancaster, CA and Nancy McClure of Wilson, NC..
