It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Memphis Lewis Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina, born in Cowpens, South Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Princess Reid Smith; his daughter Renita Deas; his parents, James Smith and Lillie Smith; and his brothers, James Ford, James Smith (Smitty) and Vance Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Memphis Lewis Smith, Jr. and Shannon T. Reid; his grandchildren, Deja Deas, Jennifer Deas, Anna Deas, Scottie Robinson, Jr. and Marlowe Henderson, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Mariah, Malaysia Deas, Jamia Matthews, Quantarius, Jakaylin Stroud, Izabella and Hendrix Henderson; and his sister Hortense Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
