He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Eugene Taylor and Frances Hinson Taylor. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Price Taylor; his children, Shirley Darlene Whiteside of Charlotte, Richard David Taylor, Jr. (Pearl) of Charlotte, Robert William Mooney (Janet) of Charlotte and Wanda Taylor Raymer of Charlotte; and his brother Tommy Eugene Taylor (Wilma). He is also survived by nine grand children; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Richard's honor.
