He was predeceased by: his father Walter Alden Rorie; and his stepfather William Shelley. He is survived by: his friends, Pilot Capt, Ted Cunningham, Plane Captain Hiram Cram, Paul Bennett and Navigator "By" Wiley; his wife Charlotte Rorie; his children, Resa Ferrell (Johnny) of Clayton, NC and Brandon Rorie (Carrie) of Thomasville, NC; his grandchildren, Leah, Ayden, Emma, Eva, Evan Luke Ferrell, Daniel, Brandon Ticer and Anna Rorie; his mother Madge Shelley; his sisters, Anita Archer of Rose Bud, Arkasas and Mildred Denton (Don) of Noble, OK.; and his siblings-in-law, Leonard Reece of Valdese, NC, Larry Reece (Betty) of Drexel, NC, Phyllis Ross (Wayne) of Valdese, NC and Bonnie Turnbull of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
