He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Mae McDaniel and Martin Robert Reed; his wife Montrose "Monty" Beam; and his brothers, Charles Reed and Fred Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Russell "Rusty" Reed and Wendela "Wendy" Reed Wooten (Chuck); and his granddaughters, Samantha Wooten and Rachel.
