He was predeceased by: his parents, Yolanda Sánchez Rivera and Serafín Ávalos Peña. He is survived by: his wife María Suyapa Avalos; his sons, Barnette, Hugo and Salvador Ávalos; and his siblings, Dinorah, Rodolfo, Gabriel and Edwin.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center (5505 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212-5503). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at 6212 Tuckaseegee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214. A committal service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens (1504 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262).
