He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Aiken Vaughn, Jr. and Harrold Lee of Charlotte, NC; his brother Lee Harrold Vaughn; his sister-in-law Carla Liske Vaughn; and his uncle Lon V. Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline Lundy Vaughn of Charlotte; his children, Allen Stevenson Vaughn and Anne Lee Vaughn; his brother Vernon A. Vaughn, III (Mary Matthews Vaughn) of Gastonia, NC; his nieces, Elizabeth Vaughn Edwards (Henry Duke Edwards) of Farmville, NC, Charlotte Lee Vaughn and Sarah Garland Vaughn (Carlos Garcia); his nephew Benjamin Reilly Vaughn of Greensboro, NC; and his aunt Elizabeth Lee Boyd of Kingsport, TN..
