She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Dwight Gilmer and Louise Cress Grubbs; her husband Alan Paul Hickok of Charlotte; her daughters, Emily Allison Hickok of Charlotte and Mary Melissa Fiorenza (Adam) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Joseph William, Lyla Grace, Romeo August and Meadow Cosette Fiorenza; her siblings, Donald Patterson Grubbs (Carey Holman) and Marilyn Louise Grubbs of Carrboro; and her sisters-in-law, Donna McClung and June Howe (Logan). She was also cherished by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
