He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Maiefielde and Frances Elinor Ewart King. He is survived by: his wife Martha Frances Johnson King; his sons, Terry "TJ" King, II and John Jay King (Monica); his grandchildren, Aria, Zander King and Rose McKnight; and his siblings, Dennis M. King (Gayle), Linda K. Kerley and Susan M. King. He is also survived by his loving wife, sons and grandchildren.
