He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Wheat and Estelle Roach Wheat; his wife Mary Ann Holston Wheat; and his siblings, Horace Wheat, Edna Grubbs and Lois Burton.
He is survived by: his daughter Candi Wheat Lethcoe; his son-in-law John; his sons, Tommy Wheat and Billy Wheat; his daughter-in-law Trudi; his brother Gerald Wheat; his sister-in-law Carol; and his grandsons, Shawn, Aaron and Wyatt. He is also survived by grandfather not only to his grandchildren but to all his nieces and nephews.
