He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hamilton Kimbrell and Edna Mae Moore; his grandparents, Angus H. Kimbrell, Ida Satterfield Kimbrell, James Frank Moore and Emily Jane Laws Moore; his wife Betty Frances Page Kimbrell; and his siblings, Charlie, Bill, Roy Lee (Sonny) and Shirley Greene.

He is survived by: his children, Danny Kimbrell of Pineville, Lisa Johnson (George Johnson) of Lancaster, SC and Teresa Cranford (Kenneth) of Fort Mill, SC.; his grandchildren, Jason Sundin, Halley Cook (Michael Cook) of Kannapolis and Brittany Robertson (Isaac Robertson) of Concord; his great grandchildren, Dylan Sundin, Lucas Cook, Owen Cook, Parker Robertson and Lydia Robertson; and his siblings, Clyde Kimbrell (Betty Deese Kimbrell) of Ft. Mill, Betty Jane Mason of Pineville, Carolyn Conner of Athens, Ala and Judy Ellington of Nebo, NC..

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the McEwen Funeral Service Inc. (10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Flint Hill Baptist Church (269 Flint Hill Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29715). A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
