He is survived by: his daughter Bertha Kirkland of Charlotte, NC; his niece Patricia A. Badger of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Simone Kirkland of Charlotte, NC, Akeina Kirkland of Charlotte, NC, Eureka Kirkland of Charlotte, NC and Steven J. Nichols, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; his great grandchildren, I'yanna Kirkland, Richard Kirkland, Samora Kirkland and Jaylen McClain; and his nephews, Reginald Badger, McKinley White, Jr., Robert Williams and David Williams. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
