He was predeceased by : his parents, Edith Boyette Bell Harpole and James Van Bell; and his siblings, James Terry Bell Sr., Charles Boyd Bell and Eddye Dolores Bell Burns.
He is survived by : his son Jerry Van Bell, Jr. (Stephanie Shute Bell); his wife Jane Long; his grandchildren, Emma Louise and Lauren Van; his brother Ralph Boyette Bell, MD (Connie) of Jackson, MS; his nephew James Terry Bell, Jr. (Lisa); his great-nephews, James Van and Steven Boyd; his stepdaughter Kristen Long Levine (Tony); his stepgranddaughters, Samantha Jane, Virginia Dalton and Elizabeth Jewel; his stepdaughters, Jennifer Long Kudla (David) of Vero Beach, FL and Angela Long Snow (John); his stepgrandchildren, Christian Craig and Devin Jane; and his cousin Ladell Blanton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers but instead donations to First Tee of Indiana, Richmond.
