It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Setzer Sharpe of Claremont, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on June 14, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Mallie Prue Punch (Mama Prue); her adoptive parents, Fred Setzer and Ielen Setzer; her daughter Robin Benfield; and her sister Monteen Mingus.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Sharpe; her daughter Scottie Walker (Johnny); her brother Steve Setzer of Newton; her son-in-law Terry Benfield of Claremont; her grandchildren, Tracy Benfield (Wendy) and Chris Benfield; and her great grandchildren, McKenzie, Brooklynn Benfield, Jacob, Jayden Davis, Cole and Greyson Hendren.
