It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Eugene Gilbert of Claremont, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on August 14, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin C. Gilbert and Virginia Moser Gilbert; his son William Rodney Gilbert; and his siblings, Farrell Gilbert, Don Gilbert and Lila Kuhnert.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Henry Gilbert; his daughter Rhonda (Stanley Wood) of Gaffney, SC; his grandchildren, Justin Gilbert, Brandon Gilbert, Abby W. (Tyler Elliott) and Lucas Wood; and his daughter-in-law Carol Whitener Gilbert.
