She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel "Dan" Hinson and Stella Hardie Hinson; her husband John Austin Cartrette; her son John Mack; her grandchildren, Rodney Gore, Christopher Gore, Marty Cartrette and Sarah Angel Cartrette; and her great grandchild Ryland Cartrette.
She is survived by: her children, Rev. Bobby Cartrette (Betty) of Clarendon, NC, Randall Gene Cartrette of Whiteville, NC and Frances Ann Gore of Whiteville, NC; her brother Otis Wayne Hinson of High Point, NC; and her grandchildren, Milton Gore, Lisa Cribb, David Jason Cartrette, Whitlee Lemea Cartrette, Faith Cartrette and Amy Rogers. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel (300 E 5th St, Tabor City, NC 28463). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC.
