She was predeceased by : her parents, Elmer Forest and Sudie Whitman Wiggins; her daughter Cathy; her sisters, Hazel W. Peterson and Margaret W. Peterson of Wilmington; and her sister-in-law Marthalene Ward Inman.

She is survived by : her significant other John C. "Jack" Ward, Jr.; her sons, Milton and David; her siblings-in-law, Beatrice Ward Gillette of Wilson and Lupton Ward (Mildred) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, John D. Ward (Christy) of Newport Beach, CA and Jennifer W. Bunch (Chris) of Wilmington; her great grandchildren, Caroline "Cali" Ward, John C. "Jack" Ward III, Alex C. Bunch, Zachary D. Bunch, Carter V. Greene, Molly Ruth Greene, Lily E. Greene and Addison L. Greene; and also, David R. Ward (Gayle) of Wilmington and Milton R. Ward (Pam).
