She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Hayes and Nora Mae Hall Ward; her husband Otis Hood; and her brother Marshall Howard Ward. She is survived by: her children, Julian Ray Benson Jr. (Margaret Ann) of Whiteville, Annette Bryan (David) of Myrtle Beach, S. C., Tammy Todd (Jerome) of Dillon, SC and Donna Chambers (T. J.) of Tabor City. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
