She was predeceased by: her husband Dewey Odell Smith, Sr.; her parents, Irvin A. Johnson and Katie Angel Johnson; and her siblings, Irvin A. Johnson, William Johnson (Bill) and Dorothy Johnson Powe.
She is survived by: her children, Dewey O. Smith, Jr. (Linda) and Avesta S. Everhart (Bobby); her grandchildren, Sunny Nelson (Marc), Nikki Hurst, Mason Smith (La Rae), Joshua Smith (Katie) and Bobby Everhart, II (Vicki); her great grandchildren, Taylor Hurst (Chelsea), Donovan Smith, Logan Eastman, Liam Smith, Lucy Nelson, John Smith, Emerie Everhart, Jaxon Everhart, Jagger Everhart, Paxton Proctor and Phin Proctor; and her great great grandchildren, Charli Hall, Owen Hurst, Eva Jo Hurst and Kennedy Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at 6135 Ridgecrest Point, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
