She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Tart and Susan Jackson Tart; her husband Bromley P. Thornton of Clinton; and her siblings, Louie Belle Tart Westbrook, Jesse Edward Tart, Dorothy Tart Warren, Howard Lee Tart, Roy Stephens Tart, Sr. and Robert Earl Tart, Sr..
She is survived by: her son Will P. Thornton (Pamela); her grandson Bromley of Wilmington, NC; her daughter Helen T. Smith (Russell); and her granddaughters, Rachel and Alison of Willow Spring, NC.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
