He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie Sr. Hughes and Marcia Hough Hughes; his daughter Barbie Hughes; his granddaughter Tabatha Blankenship; and his brother Larry Hughes.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce G. Pilkington Hughes; his children, Bob Hughes (Chris) and Brandeline Sorrells (Jeff); his grandchildren, Ashleigh, Libby and Lauren; his great grandchild Henry; his sister Jackie Reynolds (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Verna Hughes, Cathy Reece and Robert Goodson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
