He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Winston and Anne Cagle Thompson; his wife Lucy "Faye" Price Thompson; his son Dean Thompson; and his brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Thompson.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Thompson (Dana) of Clyde; his siblings, Rachel Parker of Waynesville and Doug Thompson of Charleston; his grandchildren, Ashley Thompson, Dena Thompson Snead (Matt) and Jeff Thompson (Brittni); and his great grandchildren, Aspen and Dominic Thompson.
