She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Bill Arey and Iris Arey; her children, Joel Freeman (Heather) of Wilkesboro, NC and Jayme F. Boswell (Brian) of Wilson, NC; and her granddaughters, Makenna and Addisen Freeman of Wilkesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Lakeside Lutheran Church at 2427 Eaton Ferry Road, Littleton, NC 27850 or the Iris Arey Nursing Scholarship Fund at 950 Bradley St., Concord, NC 28025.
