He was predeceased by: his parents, Crawford Franklin James, Sr. and Sarah Warren James; and his son Crawford Franklin James III. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Sloop James; his son David James (Kris); his grandchildren, Madalyn James and Crawford "Ford" James; and his siblings, Charles A. James, Allen N. James and Elizabeth James Penninger.
