He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel M. Cochran and Lula Dorton Cochran. He is survived by: his brother Colby Cochran; his uncle J. W. Cochran, Jr. (Dub) of Concord; his aunts, Norma C. Humberger of Concord and Eunice C. Mattera of La Jolla; and his son Kevin Cochran. He is also survived by eleven cousins.

Prior to retiring due to the effects of Parkinson's he was last employed in custodial services at Jay M. Robinson High School.
