He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Elizabeth Bristol Austin and Crayon Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Trisha Troutman Austin; his sons, David B. Austin, Jr. and Kevin "Britt" Austin (Anna); his brother William Austin (Anne); his grandchildren, Deva Nicole Austin, Everett Britt Austin and Callen Huntley Austin; his brother-in-law Barry Troutman (Harriet); his mother-in-law Jean Troutman; his nephew Brian Troutman (Liz); and his niece Katie Troutman.
