He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Samuel Barbee and Annie Lee Helms Barbee; his wife Edith Faye Barbee; his daughter Penny Denise Julian; and his siblings, Ricky Barbee, Katherine Barbee and Peggy Barbee.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry L. Smothers (Terry), Wayne Barbee (Sara) and Joe Morris (Trisha); his son-in-law Ricky Julian; and his brothers, Sterling Barbee and Ronnie Barbee. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
