He is survived by: his wife Mary-Ann Smoutherson; his brothers, Lonnie Smoutherson (Connnie), Martin Smoutherson of Concord, Thomas Smoutherson of Dallas, NC, Eddie Ford, John Henry Ford of Kannapolis, NC, Charles Ford, Edward Roddy and Archie Ray of Charlotte, NC; his siblings-in-law, Curtis Mitchell Clyde Johnson, Leonard Johnson (Lisa), William Johnson, Shirley Johnson, Erma Sanders, Margaret Sulmin (Alfred), Dorothy May Posey (Bryant), Evelyn Johnson and Barbara Wade; and his children, Angela "Denise" Steele (J. B.), Teresa Smoutherson-Phifer (Lewis), Carolyn Singleton, Esther Atkins Smith, Evelyn Moody, Katie Rucker (Raul), David Andre Smoutherson and William Earl Moody (Laura). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
