He is survived by: his parent Velvia Harless Thompson; his spouse Barbara Angel Thompson; his children, Gary Thompson (Yvonne) of Nitro, Joe Thompson (Tammy) of Mooresville and Sabrina Berg (Nick) of Charlotte; his siblings, Shirley Nix of Houston, TX. and Truman Thompson (Sue) of Tampa; and his grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Matthew Griffith, Michael Griffith, Seth Griffith, Kelly Scott and Ryan Hunt.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Roberta Baptist Church, 3301 Roberta Rd, Concord, NC 28027.
